Michigan Apple Trail Project

It seems like the subject of Apples has been around the SOAA since May of this year and doesn’t seem to want to go away. Well, finally SOAA has said “good-bye” to the colorful 4-foot tall Royal Oak Farmers Market project.

We put in many hours (over 700 hours), got lots of help from SOAA members.  We also got help from the City of Royal Oak employees at the DPS who lent us their home and hearts, some wonderful Royal Oak retailers, such as ACO & Frentz & Sons Hardware, Haberman Fabrics and a kind donor who fixed the base with wheels, the people who drove the apple down Woodward and, of course, B & B Collision who put the two coats of clear coat on the apple.

Our apple was auctioned off for $500.00 that goes to the Royal Oak Farmers Market.  And the winning bid went to Devin Scillian and his lovely wife.  Of course Devin is our favorite WDIV-TV4 news anchor.
